Blackjack tactics and strategy

Blackjack has been played for over 600 years and is one of the oldest card games in the world. Its direct ancestor is the Italian "Thirty-One".  Studying the basic strategy of blackjack will allow you to master the game faster, understand the principle of the dealer and the participant, and maximize the probability of winning.

For beginners we recommend to start with Legacy of Dead slots with a high RTP and bonus system. This is the best option to start playing for money!

Terminology

A strategy won't help if a participant isn't familiar with the game's lingo. Blackjack terms reflect the different situations that arise during a round, denote moves, bets and other manipulations. Beginners planning to play professionally need to learn them first.

The term

  • Hit (hit, to hit) To request a hand refill.
  • Stand (stand, leave) To give up an extra card.
  • Boost (bust, bust) To overcall a point, meaning to lose automatically.
  • Double (double) To double the amount Bet. After the first Betting Round.
  • A Hard Hand: A Hand without an Ace.
  • A soft Hand Hand Hand with an Ace.
  • Surrender Refuses to continue Betting by forfeiting a contribution.
  • A Draw (push, push) To tie for the same amount of Points with the Dealer if there is a high risk of Folding. For example, 19 points. The player receives his/her bet back, and the game results are annulled.
  • Insurance An additional deposit equal to 50% of the initial deposit. Allows you to protect the main deposit from loss if the dealer rolls a blackjack combination.
  • Split (split, split) The possibility of splitting the hand if a pair of cards fell.

The main combination in the game is called blackjack. It is a combination of any card that brings 10 points with an ace.

Popular Blackjack tactics

In addition to classic strategies, blackjack can use additional mechanics to increase the probability of winning.

Playing with two pairs

The rules provide for the possibility of splitting a hand after a hand is dealt when identical cards have been received. After splitting and replenishing, the situation with repeated pairings is likely. The dealer offers to split the deals again, if it is stipulated by the conditions of the party. In this way the player can control 4 independent deals.

The exception is splitting Aces. As a rule, it is allowed only once. After ace splitting only one additional card is allowed.

Tracking ace shuffle

The method of keeping track of deck elements that have left the party is well known among players. Its essence: visually mark the cards of interest, trying to keep track of where they ended up after the shuffle. Decisions on bets, further moves, are made on the basis of such analysis.

Memorizing the deck

A similar method to the previous one. The player tries to determine in which decks there are favorable elements, such as aces. If a shuffle machine is used for shuffling, this method is useless.

A stiff hand with no aces

Once you have an unenviable hand, you can use the basic strategy. If you have 5 through 8, you must raise at all dealer positions. Getting from 12 to 16, you can pass if the dealer has a weak deal.

Soft Hand with an Ace

The optimal tactic is to redouble with 12-17 points. You may double if the dealer has change.

When to Fold

A stand is advisable on a hard 17-point hand and a soft 18-point hand. It's a mistake to pass with 16 if the dealer's showing is good.

When to Double Up

You may double when you get a 9 through 11. If the dealer has an ace or ten, it's better to replace doubling with a hit.

Card Counting

The "Plus-minus" counting technique was shown in the famous movie "Twenty-One". Its essence is the assignment of a certain positive or negative number to each card out of the party.

If, after calculation, the sum is "in the plus," the player's chances are considered high. "Plus or minus" is often used to decide on the advisability of betting.

Mathematical Calculations

There are several ways to maximize the probability of winning by engaging science. Mathematics is used by the Plus-Minus system. Also, calculations are relevant to the similar methodology of "Half and Half". Mathematics is used to make basic strategies that players use.
